Tell me about a time when you were really upset about something that happened at work.

 

My feelings about work are not really centered on a single upsetting incident, but can be described as a slow attrition of my interest and motivation. Seeing coworkers goof off while others are overwhelmed, seeing old systems persist after different tactics to change them – it feels frustrating, unfair, and draining. It’s hard watching management tune out/choose not to see these issues.
Not having the bandwidth to work on important, timely, interesting projects is another issue. There’s so much that NEEDS to get done that I can rarely work on the most rewarding stuff.
